Vedra Augenstein, MD, FACS attended medical school and performed her surgical residency at the University of Louisville. She performed a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at the Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Augenstein is a Professor of Surgery and Fellowship Co-Director for the Division of Minimally Invasive and Gastrointestinal Surgery. She is a Clinical Professor at Wake Forest University. Her research and clinical interests include hernia, complex abdominal reconstruction, robotics, and resident and fellow education. She is currently the President of the Americas Hernia Society.Her scientific investigation has earned awards from numerous societies.
